Millimeterwellen-Scansystem für die Faserverbundstoffherstellung

Im For­schungs­pro­jekt Fi­ber­Ra­dar wird ein neu­ar­ti­ges Ver­fah­ren zur Kon­trol­le des Fer­ti­gungs­pro­zes­ses hoch­fes­ter Fa­ser­ver­bund­werk­stof­fe un­ter­sucht. Bei der Her­stel­lung von glas­fa­ser­ver­stärk­ten Struk­tur­bau­tei­len wird die Fa­ser­struk­tur durch das Um­schlie­ßen ver­leg­ter Glas­fa­ser­halb­zeu­ge mit einer Harz­ma­trix fi­xiert. Un­re­gel­mä­ßig­kei­ten in der Aus­rich­tung und/oder im Ver­lauf der Fa­ser­ver­stär­kung ver­än­dern die Struk­turei­gen­schaf­ten und re­du­zie­ren somit die Qua­li­tät des ent­stan­de­nen Ver­bund­werk­stof­fes. Der­zeit ist eine Un­ter­su­chung des Fa­ser­ver­laufs und der Fa­ser­schich­tung bei In­fu­si­ons- oder In­jek­ti­ons­pro­zes­sen nach der Va­ku­um­kon­so­li­die­rung vor dem Ein­brin­gen der Harz­ma­trix nicht zu­ver­läs­sig mög­lich, so dass Fehl­stel­len erst im Nach­gang z.B. durch Ul­tra­schall­un­ter­su­chung ge­fun­den wer­den kön­nen. Dies macht eine kon­trol­lier­te Pro­zess­ket­te de facto un­mög­lich und sorgt für kos­ten­in­ten­si­ve Nach­ar­beit oder zum Ver­schrot­ten von Bau­tei­len. Durch hoch­auf­lö­sen­de Ra­dar­ab­bil­dung kann die Fa­ser­struk­tur be­reits vor dem Ver­gie­ßen drei­di­men­sio­nal ab­ge­bil­det und somit noch op­ti­miert wer­den.

Der Lehr­stuhl für Elek­tro­ni­sche Schal­tungs­tech­nik er­ar­bei­tet in die­sem Rah­men einen po­lar­i­me­tri­schen Ra­dar­sen­sor bei 60 GHz. Dies um­fasst ins­be­son­de­re die Er­for­schung von An­ten­nen­struk­tu­ren, in­te­grier­ten Mi­kro­wel­len­schal­tun­gen sowie Lei­tungs­struk­tu­ren für das Front­end und die nie­der­fre­quen­te Elek­tro­nik für das Ba­ckend.

Er­mög­licht wird das Pro­jekt durch die För­de­rung im Rah­men des Leit­markt­wett­be­wer­bes NRW „Neue Werk­stof­fe“, wo­durch For­schungs­mit­tel der Eu­ro­päi­schen Union für die För­de­rung re­gio­nal ver­an­ker­ter Zu­kunfts­tech­no­lo­gi­en zur Ver­fü­gung ge­stellt wer­den.
