European Wireless (EW) 2025 took place from 27 to 29 October 2025 in Sophia Antipolis, France. As one of Europe’s leading forums for current developments in wireless communications and networking, the conference offered a diverse scientific program in its 30th edition.

On November 20, 2025, this year’s DAAD Prize was awarded at the Uni-Forum Ost of Ruhr University Bochum. The prize, which is presented annually by the German Academic Exchange Service, honors international students who excel through outstanding academic achievements and social engagement.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is extending funding for the Collaborative Research Center SFB 1316 at Ruhr University Bochum for another four years. The center investigates how atmospheric plasmas interact with materials and how these processes can be used for sustainable chemical transformations.

At the Faculty Colloquium on November 5, 2025, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Aydin Sezgin from the Chair of Digital Communication Systems spoke about key technologies paving the way toward 6G. His lecture was titled “Enabling 6G: Computing, Sensing and Intelligent Environments for Next-Generation Wireless.”
