His research focuses on integrated circuits for radar technology, high-resolution and miniaturized radar systems, circuits for multi-channel measurement systems (MIMO radar), ultra high-frequency circuits up to 300 GHz and beyond. Born in Aachen, Germany, he studied electrical engineering and information technology, followed by a PhD at RUB. Since then, he taught and conducted research at our faculty, first as an assistant professor, and from September 2015 he headed the Chair for High Frequency Integrated Circuits. Since 2013, Prof. Nils Pohl has also headed the Millimeter Wave Radar and Ultra high Frequency Sensors department at Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques FHR in Wachtberg.
