We are delighted that the paper “Overcoming the relative bandwidth limitations of single VCO frequency synthesizers by implementing a novel PLL architecture,” authored by our team members Tobias T. Braun, Jan Schöpfel, Aldo José Márquez Maldera, and Nils Pohl, has received this award. The work was carried out in collaboration between Ruhr University Bochum and Fraunhofer FHR. The award-winning article deals with a novel PLL architecture designed to overcome the relative bandwidth limitations of frequency synthesizers with single VCOs, thereby addressing key challenges in modern high-frequency and communication systems.

The award was presented during the opening session of European Microwave Week. Two of the four authors accepted the prize on behalf of the team at the event.
