6GEM - 6G research hub for open, efficient and secure mobile communications systems
Researchers in the BMBF-funded 6GEM project are working on a future generation of mobile communications. In addition to the use of higher frequencies in mobile communications, the researchers are also focusing on the use of these technologies to be developed. This should enable promising applications, such as e.g. rescue robots, safer road traffic, intralogistics, port logistics or the digital operating room.
The following partners are involved in this collaborative research project: RWTH Aachen, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, TU Dortmund, Universität Duisburg Essen, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, TU Ilmenau, Fraunhofer-Institut für Hochfrequenzphysik und Radartechnik, Fraunhofer-Institut für Mikroelektronische Schaltungen und Systeme, Fraunhofer-Institut für Materialfluss und Logistik, Max-Planck-Institut für Sicherheit und Privatsphäre.
Project duration: 2021 - 2025
