Faculty Colloquium: Presentations by Prof. Dr. Thomas Mussenbrock and Dr. Marcel van Delden

|   Aktuelle Meldungen

At the Faculty Colloquium on 21 January, Managing Director Dr. Corinna Heldt welcomed participants to two engaging presentations on current research topics from the fields of plasma technology and electronic circuits.

The first presentation was given by Prof. Dr. Thomas Mussenbrock, Chair of Applied Electrodynamics and Plasma Technology. In his talk entitled “Physical Foundations of Sustainable Plasma Technology: From Energy Input to Controlled Reaction Pathways”, he presented the role of plasma technology within the context of Power-to-X concepts. In view of climate change and persistent industrial emissions, he illustrated how plasma technology can enable climate-relevant chemical processes.

In the second presentation, Dr. Marcel van Delden from the Chair of Electronic Circuits spoke on “Microwave Frequency Synthesis with Ultra High Bandwidth and Stability”. He provided an overview of current research on microwave oscillators, methods for frequency stabilization, as well as measurement and analysis techniques, and highlighted their relevance for applications such as industry, automotive engineering, weather monitoring, and security.

Following the presentations, participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions and networking over drinks and snacks.
