Dr. Christoph Baer was elected as the first Chair of the IEEE Germany Section by the Ruhr University Bochum

As of January 1, 2025, Dr. Christoph Baer, ​​senior academic advisor at the Chair of Electronic Circuit Technology, took over the position of Chair of the IEEE Germany Section. This means that Dr. Baer is the first representative of the RUB to carry out this responsible office.

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the world's largest technical organization committed to advancing advances in electrical engineering, information technology and related disciplines. As chair of the German section, Dr. Baer not only helps shape the vision and strategic direction of the IEEE in Germany, but also promotes exchange and collaboration between science, industry and society.

“I am very pleased to lead the IEEE Germany Section and to work with colleagues from all over Germany on the further development of our discipline,” said Dr. Bear. “I am particularly proud that the Ruhr University Bochum is represented as an important scientific institution in this international network.”

With this election, Dr. Baer will assume the position of a leading player in the global scientific community, while at the same time setting another example for the excellent work and the commitment of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr University Bochum.
