Everyday life in Germany
Living in Bochum
When living in Bochum you are located in the heart of the industrially and scientifically most developed part of Europe. Bochum and its surrounding area have a vast cultural heritage with industrial culture, all advantages of a metropolitan area as well as recreational areas close by. There are art, film and music festivals in the summer and a ski resort just a couple of hours away in the winter. Information on student life in Bochum and the surrounding area is given here.
Health Insurance
Please note that a health insurance is compulsory for students. Only then is enrolment, study, and visa extension possible at all. There are two types of health insurance in Germany: statutory and private health insurance.
