Research

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ruhr-Universität Bochum stands out for its dynamic research engagement and innovative teaching approaches. Our professors lead research teams in various key areas such as sensor technology, plasma and microstructure technology and networked learning systems. Additionally, we cover a wide range of topics including photonics, energy technology and medical technology in a comprehensive manner.

International cutting-edge research is conducted both interdisciplinary with industrial partners and in faculty- and university-wide collaborative projects, as well as in individual projects. State-of-the-art laboratories and the short distances of a campus university enable the consolidation of various research competencies.
